NDIS Launches New Supported Decision-Making Hub to Empower Participants
A new era of empowerment has arrived for people with disability, with the launch of the Supported Decision-Making Hub, a collaborative initiative by Inclusion Australia, the NDIA (National Disability Insurance Agency), and the Department of Social Services (DSS).
Designed as a central resource for supported decision-making, the Hub offers easy-to-access tools, guidance, and information to help people make informed decisions about their lives, goals, and supports.
What Is the Supported Decision-Making Hub?
The Supported Decision-Making Hub is an online platform that promotes and supports the concept of “supported decision making”—an approach that helps individuals with disability to make their own choices with assistance, rather than having decisions made for them.
Whether it’s choosing where to live, how to manage health care, or planning for work, supported decision making enables people to stay in control and have a stronger voice in the decisions that shape their lives.
Key Features of the Hub
The Hub contains a wide range of resources across 12 categories, including:
- NDIS and Planning Decisions
- Employment and Work Life
- Health and Medical Choices
- Housing and Accommodation
- Everyday Living
- And more…
Each section includes easy-to-understand information, videos, and tools to help participants, families, carers, and support workers navigate decision making confidently and respectfully.
A short introductory video is also available to walk users through how to make the most of the Hub.
Why This Matters
This initiative marks a significant step forward in ensuring people with disability have more control over their own lives—a key principle of the NDIS. The Supported Decision-Making Hub aligns with the broader goals of inclusivity, independence, and self-determination.
By providing practical tools and clear explanations, the Hub makes it easier for individuals, families, and professionals to uphold the rights and dignity of people with disability in all aspects of life.
Who Should Use the Hub?
- NDIS Participants
- Families and Carers
- Support Coordinators
- Local Area Coordinators (LACs)

Whether you’re new to the NDIS or an experienced provider, this resource is a valuable tool for encouraging autonomy and shared decision-making.
